Pre Paid Funerals in Melbourne

Over 30 years ago, Syd began providing funerals based on what client families wanted, instead of what they were told they should organize through traditional Funeral Providers and allowed them to pay whatever they could afford.

Sean and Patsy followed his hard working ethics and his dedication to make lower priced quality funerals available to everyone.

We are a Member of the National Funeral Directors Association.

We are registered with Births, Deaths & Marriages new Online System.

Equally, if you have accepted the duty of Executor or Power of Attorney, planning for an elderly parent or relative, Syd Peek & Daughter will assist with completing paperwork and guiding you through the required documentation.

We also guide and assist you with Cemetery or Crematorium Deeds and issues.

At Need, Pre-Paid and Pre-Arranged Funerals

Government legislation introduced in 1993 protect Pre-paid Funeral monies paid by you. The funeral director must purchase cremation or burial deeds where possible, pay Goods & Services Tax (GST) and invest the remaining money in a government approved Fund.

Currently we choose Australian Friendly Society (Bendigo Bank). Once the Cooling Off period ends, monies held with our Friendly Society are non-transferable & non-redeemable. You cannot get a refund but if you move we do allow you to re-assign to another Funeral Provider. Fees may apply.

Cremation & Burial Deeds attract cancellation fees and at Fawkner (GMCT) their Terms & Conditions state they may not refund monies even if you move interstate, so consider carefully where you choose when planning, especially if there’s a possibility that you may move far from where you live at the time of Pre-Planning.

At Need Funeral

Is when you arrange the funeral of someone who has passed away or is close to their end of life.

Pre-Paid Funeral

Funerals with Syd Peek & Daughter are arranged in the privacy of your home or one of our offices. A Contract of Instructions and Costs is finalized and paid for in one lump sum at a fixed price. It’s forever, unless you make changes.

Pre-Arranged Funeral

Is an option whereby you can provide your Instructions and details to be kept on file with Syd Peek & Daughter but the Funeral Costs are paid at the time of need by your next of kin, or from your own Funds which could include your own Funeral Insurance. We cannot hold today’s prices of course, instead you pay whatever the cost of your Service Instructions are at the time of need. Pre-Planning is often organized by an individual wanting to make their own arrangements to alleviate family or next of kin of that responsibility.

We have several Plans available.

We’ve put these Plans together because it covers all of the costs of items and Services you must have for a Cremation or Burial, along with the most commonly requested items and services.

We can and will also provide quotations, if you are planning something that isn’t covered in our Standard Plans.We may not be able to provide “Other Plans, Items or Services” for Pre-Paid Funerals. If you’ve decided one of our Plans suit your requirements, please phone to make an appointment.

You can visit us at Croydon or Keysborough by appointment, otherwise we have representatives who will visit you at home obligation free. Meeting face to face allows us to discuss your requirements and the options available. Together we’ll discuss the location and type of Service required.
